Caitlin Baxter who attends our Bromborough branch of Little Thespians on the Wirral every Saturday morning is making it big the world of film!!!  Caitlin is just 7years old and has already been cast in the film ‘THE TEMP’, this comedy drama follows the adventures of a 40 year old career ‘temp’ Paul, who works for several companies at once, he appears to have found the perfect system, until a much younger temp starts work, making him question his view on life and his values. Caitlin plays Emma Mckenzie Paul's best friends daughter. Caitlin is a firecracker who is always telling jokes with a topical news theme.  She also has a further part as the main character in a psychological thriller feature film !!

Little Thespians Theatre School was delighted to receive a phone call from Emma Stafford Casting Company as they invited our senior students to audition for a film called ‘Submarine’ commissioned by Film Four.  Congratulations to, Ruairi Campbell, Emily Mc Dermott, Lauren Roberts, Rebecca Rourke and Zack Tellet who impressed the casting directors and got re-calls.

Little Thespians Theatre School sent senior students to audition for a professional production of Willy Russell’s comedy ‘Our Day Out’ in October.  The Musical is produced by Tip Top Productions.  This demanded convincing ‘scouse’ accents from our students!!  Congratulations to Ben Merrick, Megan Hughes and Amy McCann who impressed the casting directions as the have both been cast in the production.  

We have lots of talented students attending Little Thespians, the following students:
Rebecca Hughes, Rebecca Griffiths, Cameron Wedd, Rebecca Hughes and Issey Finlay.  Have been selected for Singing, Dancing and Drama ‘Gifted and Talented’ programmes with Cheshire Education



 




Grace Rogers who attends the Bromborough branch of Little Thespians Theatre School, received the highest mark out of the whole of the Wirral Centre in Trinity Guildhall Speech and Drama examinations 2010; Grace received 93 marks an excellent, high distinction.  Closely followed was Nef Prosser with 92 marks, another high distinction.  Rebecca Griffiths received the highest mark in the Performing Arts section with 88 marks a distinction.  Well done every one who entered.  Everyone passed their exam with a merit or a distinction.

Little Thespians has a radio DJ in the making as Michael Bolam has a regular morning slot every other Wednesday at 8.00-8.30 am with Chester’s radio station Dee 106.3.  Michael won a competition with the Radio station to DJ on this morning slot.

Rebecca Griffiths is taking the world of disco dancing by storm she has won over 60 trophies for her disco dancing and is now competing at intermediate level.   Rebecca’s biggest achievement this year was winning the Miss Princess award at the ‘Champion of Championships Competition’, where dance schools from all over England and Scotland took part.  Well done Rebecca!

Tom and Felix Gideones, Michael and Nyall Bolam and Ian and Guy Whale have been cast in the ‘Gang Show’ with the Scouts. This is Michael and Nyall’s third Gang Show with the Scouts. I am sure you will have lots of fun being part in the production.

Little Thespians Theatre School have been contacted by the producers of Sky One’s quiz show ‘Are You Smarter than A 10 Year Old’  hosted by Noel Edmonds to provide them with 10 year olds that would be able to puts adults to the test, as they tackle questions on subjects spanning the National Curriculum.
Chester ‘Mystery Plays’ cast students from Little Thespians to perform in the ‘Noah’s Flood’ scene.  This was an exciting opportunity as the ‘Mystery Plays’ are professional productions that are only staged in Chester every four to five years.  They ran from 26th June – 19th July 2008.  All the students involved had a wonderful time working with a professional cast. 



Little Thespians where delighted to be asked to perform a musical medley to open a charity fashion show in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice, this took place in the Metquarter, Liverpool on 13th November 2008.   Amy McCann from the Neston branch of Little Thespians opened the event with a breath taking performance of Andrew Lloyd Webbers ‘Memory’ the students went on to sing several musical numbers from the popular ‘Hair Spray’, ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’, ‘My Fair Lady’ and ‘Billy Elliot’.  If you click on the link you can read the write up in the news paper. http://www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/chester-news/chester-breaking-news/2008/11/24/chester-drama-pupils-steal-the-show-at-charity-event-59067-22328149/
